First of all check that all the components needed to fit the flood barrier panel have been supplied ... so within the package there is: 1 flood barrier door; x 2 nylon runners; x 6 screws and x 6 wall plugs. The process of installation is as follows...

1. Determine exactly where the barrier is to be positioned and put the nylon channel against the wall to be drilled, then drill 3 holes one top, one centre and one bottom, using a sharp drill piece. Once you have marked the wall doing this, drill the three holes with a 7mm masonry bit and insert the wall plugs.
2. Coat the side of the nylon runner that will be in contact with the wall with enough silicone so that it creates an effective seal between the nylon runner and the wall. Then screw the nylon runner to the wall and remove any excess silicone. Ensure that the second runner is positioned exactly opposite, and directly parallel to the nylon runner that has just been attached to the wall; so that when the flood door slips down the nylon runners it does so without twisting or distorting. Now fit the second nylon runner using the same process.
3. Measure the base of the doorway from inside one runner to the inside of the other. Repeat this process for the top measurement. This process will ensure a true fit; deduct 5mm overall before cutting the board to enable the door to slide snugly into the runners. Mark the overall width measurement on the flood barrier door so that you cut one edge only.
4. Put the board onto a stable surface and cut the board down the measurement line cutting through the top rubber seal and down through the foam/rubber seal at the base of the board. After this is done using fine sand paper rub down the side you have just cut to rid the board of any sharp edges. Slide the flood barrier door into position and check ease of fitting. (Sometimes a little Vaseline or washing up liquid helps installation and/or removal). Seal any remaining gaps between the wall/door step and the nylon runners with silicone.
Please note:
Although the bottom seal has been specifically designed to follow small changes in contour, if the area directly beneath the bottom seal has a rough or uneven surface, such as broken stones or joints, this will have to be levelled for the seal to become totally effective. Always store the board on edge in a dry place.
